Number 14 Special World Championship
2006 Bulletin August 2006
The Hovercraft World Championships in France are now only a few weeks away and the Organizers are frantically putting the finishing touches to their arrangements for us. If you are coming to the Championship, or your arrangements have changed there are some things that you should be aware of so please read this Bulletin carefully.
Please circulate this Bulletin as widely and as quickly as you can to anyone you think may be interested.
I have no doubt that we will enjoy the very best of World Hovercraft Championships and I hope to see you there.
Tony Drake JP. President of the World Hovercraft Federation
Registrations:
· Registration for the Championships has now closed, and we have been advised by the organizers that no further entries can be accepted.
· The Organizers have also given us details of registration so far and compared these with their initial estimates. These are as follows:
|

· On one hand this is a tremendous response and will make for a fantastic Championship, on the other hand it will stretch the Organization to the limit and will demand patience from all.
Restriction of Formula Entries:
· As mentioned in Bulletin 13 it is almost certain that drivers who have registered in both F50 and FS with the same craft will be excluded from FS. This will reduce the need for heats in FS. Regrettable as this may be it is the only way for the Organizers to arrange a sensible race programme.
Please help the Organizers.
· If you have registered but your circumstances have changed and you or some of your group are not now coming please let the organizers know now at www.whc2006.com.
Payment and on site registrations
· All payments (in euro cash) and racing document inspection / personal registration must be made no later than Tuesday 22nd August. This includes non-driver meals. (The correct number of meals will be ordered last thing Tuesday evening and it will not be possible to add meals after this).
Arrival on site:
· Camping on site will not be permitted until Sunday 20th of September and not as previously indicated.
WHF Board pre - meeting:
· You will see the Agenda for the formal WHF Board meeting on Monday is getting very long. We know that a lot of people will be leaving Monday afternoon to return home again. We suggest having a short extra meeting on Wednesday evening on the 23rd of August, on site in the VIP square, from 19.00 till 20.00 hours.
· Points to be discussed are:
- Deadline for WHF Rule Changes
- Minimum numbers competing in a Formulae
- Frequency of World Championships
- The future of ER
- The future of F50
- The future of F25
(For more detail please look at the Formal Agenda).
· We will be very pleased if you discus these points with your country members before the Wednesday meeting and come to the evening meeting with 2 or 3 delegates. This will help get through the formal Monday meeting a bit faster so that people can get away in good time!
It is hoped that the information on the previous pages will give you some additional detail but if you need any further information please contact the following:
